Reintroducing a traditional product in nontraditional way
G.H. Cretors is a national mother-daughter owned popcorn company with a rich history. After all, their roots in popcorn making date back to 1885, when they first began making handcrafted, gourmet popped corn with real ingredients. However, they wanted more media buzz around their bold new flavors and non-GMO, natural ingredients.
Tasked with bringing a classic brand to life through media relations, Buzz Monkeys launched a national media campaign for its latest organic flavors. Knowing that media and key bloggers would be more convinced to write about the brand if they had an opportunity to sample it, Buzz Monkeys’ priority was to lead an influencer sampling program. Buzz Monkeys also coordinated media sampling efforts around key industry trade shows to make sure the unique spring flavors reached the right hands.
After months of media conversations, Buzz Monkeys landed G.H. Cretors more than 1.5 billion impressions, including heavy national pickup and hits in Real Simple Magazine and Yahoo!, as well as key food and grocery trade press such as Bakery and Snacks, Food Business News and Progressive Grocer. G.H. Cretors also landed a plethora of social media hits, including Instagram posts from bloggers that received more than 100 likes and interaction from top snacking trade publications.
